In todays lesson we were put into groups and given our stimulus: "opportunity grows or shrinks in proportion to ones courage" Outline your initial response to the stimulus and how this informed the creation of your piece At the start, everyone in my group spilt off and we thought to ourselves what this stimulus provoked in us. For me it made me think about extroverts and introverts, this is as in the work environment more confident and people who are a people person are more likely to be given bigger opportunities due to their ability's to communicate effectively and talk to new faces and clients. This unfortunately didn't inform the creation of the piece, however gave us an idea to explore the different opportunities of different people with different status and job roles. Rob lesson: 7 deadly sins

 In todays lesson we worked around the theme of the seven deadly sins: 1.pride 2.greed 3.wrath 4.envy 5.lust 6.gluttony 7.sloth Song: Chopin: Nocturne in C sharp minor 13th century inspired Also heavily inspired by dantes inferno I worked with adama, Melissa, Freddie and deacon. We started by allocating different sins to each person, combining some of these that were similar so that all the sins were represented.  Our piece was mainly physical theater as this is how we wanted to portray the sins so they could be visually stated and understood from the audience.  We started with lust, which was portrayed through Melissa, as she walked around us all manipulating us into being in love with her and to her command. We then moved to greed/gluttony, which I performed, where I walked around looking and pretended to steal from them, then going for the audience I was dragged away as I had gone to far. Robs lesson: working with visual stimulus

 In todays lesson in small groups of three, we worked with out visual stimulus that we had to pick apart to create a visual performance. I worked with Sam and Melissa and started off by mind mapping around the image and came up with words and actions that complimented it. Then from this we came up with a short ideal and story of a father and his daughters that didn't seem to see him, but in actual reality they could, they just chose to ignore him. For props and set we used and table and chair, along with a water bottle. This acted as a table in which the father sat and contemplated what he was doing. Then from this we started to add movements, purcsion using the table and hands, phrases like "we can see him". All of these came together in a short collaborative performance piece that had room for development.

Unit 33 Using a Stimulus to create a performance. Performance 1 – DNA: The performance I have watched had something to do with DNA and science. Started off at the start with them all being in a lab environment. During the piece there was also a talk about a condition and a mother losing kids due to a disease. Personally, this performance and was a little hard to figure out what it was about or how things were linking. After a while I was able to grasp onto the fact that it was talking about IVF babies, two lesbians combining their DNA along with a sperm donor to have a kid, this is where the three parents section comes in to play. Play shows the science behind it, the impact it has further down the line not only genetically but emotionally. What makes the performance interesting? – The use of acapella in the begin makes for an interesting opening which is enticing. Response to stimulus (to be finished)

What did you notice is difficult and exciting when creating your own original work?  For me, when creating my own original piece it was a challenge to come up with ideas that would flow into eachother without leaving massive areas of contrast or confusion. However, after mindmaping around our given stimulus, dreamscape, it made it easier to create a coherent piece of theatre.
