Original performance mock Daily blogs + Questions
In todays lesson we were put into groups and given our stimulus:
"opportunity grows or shrinks in proportion to ones courage"
Outline your initial response to the stimulus and how this informed the creation of your piece
At the start, everyone in my group spilt off and we thought to ourselves what this stimulus provoked in us. For me it made me think about extroverts and introverts, this is as in the work environment more confident and people who are a people person are more likely to be given bigger opportunities due to their ability's to communicate effectively and talk to new faces and clients.
This unfortunately didn't inform the creation of the piece, however gave us an idea to explore the different opportunities of different people with different status and job roles.
Here below are my initial thoughts on paper:
Describe and explain. What are you trying to communicate?
In our piece we are trying to communicate how one persons action can effect others around them in way that may not be obvious at first, but have a drastic effect in the end. We are doing this through exploring the themes of WW2 in a way that a big decision has to be made, both having different effects on the citizens.
What's the aim/intention of the piece? How do these link back to the stimulus?
When it comes to the aim of the piece it is to show that some actions and decisions take more courage to do and sometimes just sitting and not choosing can cause worse effect that making a final decision. This links to the stimulus as this explores the idea of courage and how you need courage to be able to make the correct response and decision so that everything can run smoothly.
Describe and explain for whom you are performing. Why and how does this link to the intentions and stimulus?
Our piece is targeted at a more mature younger adult audience as it explores themes of the war. This links to the intentions of the piece as the manner and seriousness of the decision can reflect somewhat the kind of serious decisions that they would be making in their everyday life.
